हम भगवान शिव शंकर की पूजा करते हैं, जिनके तीन नेत्र हैं, जो अपनी कृपा से पूरी दुनिया की देखभाल कर रहे हैं। हम उससे प्रार्थना करते हैं की वह हमें मृत्यु के बंधन से मुक्त करें। जैसे खीरा इस बेल जैसी दुनिया में पक जाता है और अपनी बेड़ियों से मुक्त हो जाता है, वैसे ही हम भी इस दुनिया के रूप में पके हैं और आपके चरणों का अमृत पीकर शरीर छोड़ कर आप में लीन हो जाते हैं।

The Maha-mrityunjaya mantra is a life-giving mantra. That is why the same mantra is also popularly known as the ‘Sanjeevani mantra’. These days, when life has become so complex, accidents are an everyday affair. This Mantra wards off deaths caused by snake-bite, lightning, motor accidents, fire-accidents, air-accidents and all other accidents. At the same time it has a great curative effect as well. Diseases pronounced incurable by doctors are cured by this mantra, when it is chanted with sincerity, faith and devotion. It is a mantra to conquer death. Mahamrityunjaya mantra is Lord Shiva’s mantra. It bestows health, long life, peace, wealth, prosperity, satisfaction and mokhsa.

You have to recite the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra with a concentrated mind just once in the morning, and it will save you from all possible mishaps. If the mantra is recited by prefixing and suffixing it with the beej mantra, it becomes much more powerful. The mantra with the addition of the beej mantra is as follows:
